Concerto No. 3
Sarah-Jane Norman
10 May, at Melba Hall
A durational performance whereby six "failed" pianists will attempt to sight-read Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 3.
More →Altertruism promotes friendly fire, dispelling the myths that link new law enforcement strategies with ‘militarisation’ and contention of private space. Advocates for advancement Golden Solution (Michael Candy, Kiah Reading, Andrew McLellan) aim to show fellow civilians instead how to become active agents in an exciting new terrain.
Across the three part series, Altertruism, the group will both abstract and physicalize the possibilities of systems thinking for study of convenience and self-interest. The group will throw a Shower Party at Goodtime Studios, Melbourne in which attendees are forced to act collectively and balance their desire for inebriation with the needs of a humble goldfish – a representative of the ever-domesticated biosphere.
The following week will feature an expansive demonstration of UAVs in a sales pitch to the public in Aerial ReCreation, hosted by Collingwood’s BUS Projects in their comfortable open-air space. Finally, with ideas and excitement of the future civil order brimming, the public can have their say alongside distinguished scholars and peers of the group back in the Shower Party space. Somewhere between an open symposium and roundtable discussion, over an afternoon Altertruism Demos will workshop a prototype charter for the future automation of our civil life.
May 6 Altertruism: Aerial ReCreation has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The May 8 session will go ahead as planned.
